3 Signs Your SEO Campaign is Failing

It’s no secret that SEO is a difficult and time-consuming process, but it’s also crucial for the success of your business. If you’re not seeing any results from your efforts, or if your rankings are dropping instead of increasing, there could be something wrong with either what you’re doing or the way you’re measuring success. In this article, we will discuss three signs that can help determine whether or not your SEO campaign is failing.

1. Your Website Traffic isn’t Growing

Perhaps the most obvious sign of failure is if your website traffic isn’t increasing.

You should be able to see changes within a month or two at most unless you’ve just started out and are working on building backlinks. If that’s the case then give it some time before seeing results, six months would be more realistic in this situation.

Of course, there are exceptions to every rule, so don’t fret too much about not getting immediate results. Sometimes SEO can take years.

If you want hard numbers instead of waiting around for indirect signs like increased engagement rates over social media channels, etc., look into paid advertising options such as Google Ads or Facebook ads.

2. Your Website’s Conversion Rate is Too Low

If your website’s conversion rate is too low, it may be because you’re not engaging the audience enough.

People don’t like to feel as if they are being advertised at so try to find natural opportunities for promoting yourself instead of forcing them into every corner of the site.

Also keep in mind that people aren’t searching for “buy this product” but rather information about how a prospective customer can benefit from using what you offer or better yet, why they need it.

Of course, there are exceptions such as e-commerce sites where conversions should always happen on their own accord.

However, usually websites with an SEO component will see better results when visitors come out feeling informed and ready to make a purchase without having been forced into doing so.

3. Your Website isn’t Reaching Your Target Audience

If you aren’t reaching your target audience, then this could be a sign that something is off. This is one of the key 3 signs that your SEO campaign is failing.

You should know who your target audience is and how to find them so if they’re not finding you in the search results or on social media channels, then it’s time to take note of why that might be.

Perhaps there are some barriers standing in their way such as location or language? Are all potential customers being targeted when certain segments may respond better to different messages?

Also, consider whether the people coming from various sources have a similar profile.

For example, do they all share similar interests based on what pages they’ve visited before arriving at yours? If not, figure out where these differences lie and try targeting ads accordingly by testing them.
